- Chairman, Organising Committee of the Sustainability in the Extractive Industries (SITEI) conference for the past nine years
- Appointed by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy to the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a member of the special subcommittee on Nigeria’s hosting of the World Economic Forum on Africa in 2014
- Spoke at the Horasis Global China Business meeting at the Hague, Netherlands
- Member of the Nigerian Energy Trade Mission Delegation to the 21st World Energy Congress, in Montreal, Canada in 2011
- Developed the brand strategy, communications framework and launched the Nigeria’s social intervention program which grew to become the world’s largest public microfinance initiative
- Appointed member of the Visions Community which collaborates with the Federal Government of Nigeria to actualise its economic development goals through the Horasis-Nigeria Economic Development Council
- Appointed Bishop’s Commissary and a member of the Diocesan Board and Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Okene, Kogi-State in 2020.

Since 1997, when Niyi Olowola won his first award for Outstanding Humanitarian Services on account of his HIV/AIDS reduction advocacy programme in Northern Nigeria, he has been consistently recognised by several African institutions. Some of his laurels include the Innovative Leadership in PR and Image Management award at the 2019 National Marketing Stakeholders Summit & Brand and Advertising Awards of Excellence. In addition, he has led Zenera Consulting to win the Inspiring Agency of the Year, 2017 in Accra Ghana, and the Outstanding Brand Management Company of the Year in 2019.
